Position Information
This position supports the Mission, Values and Vision of Carolina Family Health Centers, Inc. The Health Information Management Specialist will assist in managing the electronic health medical record system; including training staff, provider set up, troubleshooting problems, managing system upgrades. The Health Information Management Specialist will manage the patient portal and assist in reporting and auditing.

THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORKWEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.

Experience Requirements / Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) or other health related field (ie. nursing).
Minimum one year of experience in the area of health information technology and/or managing Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Must be able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Must have good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to interact with professional staff in a proficient manner.
Must understand how a health clinic operates in relation to the collection of health and demographic data through the use of an EHR for the provision of providing health care, reporting and billing services rendered.

Education Required
Associate Degree in Health Information Technology (HIT) or other health related field (ie. nursing).

Hours of Work
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Physical Requirements
Constant standing and walking, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, reaching forward and overhead.
May occasionally be required to lift patients, office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds of direct lift.
Frequent computer work required.
Must have transportation available during the workday for frequent local travel within and out of the community.

Vaccination Requirements
As a Medicaid/Medicare facility, Carolina Family Health Centers must comply with the Federal COVID-19 vaccination mandates. Therefore, as of January 27, 2022, new and existing employees must have received, at a minimum, the first dose of the primary series (Moderna or Pfizer) or a single dose COVID-19 vaccine (Janssen), have requested a lawful exemption, or been granted a lawful exemption.
