About the Role

We are seeking a full-time Interim Employment Law Counsel who specializes in employment law. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice to business and functional partners on a variety of human capital management issues, ensuring adherence to multiple employment laws and regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Advising on recruitment, hiring, employee management, and disciplinary actions in compliance with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, EPA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, FCRA, and state labor laws.
  • Providing on-the-spot legal guidance to staff.
  • Managing employment litigation and counseling on policies to maintain legal compliance.
  • Working collaboratively with business teams to achieve strategic objectives.

To qualify, candidates must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on supporting a blue-collar workforce, ideally in retail, manufacturing, or distribution sectors. A J.D. degree and membership in good standing in at least one state bar is required. Proven expertise in managing EEOC, OSHA, and other employment agency matters, along with a successful record of handling employment litigation, is essential. This demanding role calls for a professional who understands both state and federal labor laws and can effectively manage outside counsel.
