The Internal Communications Manager is self-motivated, creative, collaborative, and energetic. While experience handling both internal and external communications is desired, the primary focus will be on internal communications.
The ideal candidate sets high bars, strives to exceed expectations, and enjoys thinking outside of the box. The ideal candidate wants to be on a team focused on superlative outcomes that holds each member accountable.
Top candidates will be asked to create high-caliber content while operating in a fun, dynamic and fast-paced environment. Candidates must demonstrate highly developed organizational skills. In addition, candidates should be able to create relevant content that both engages employees, builds Silgan Dispensing brand awareness and creates customer loyalty.
The candidate must have experience with a wide variety of internal communications channels including newsletters, intranet sites, email, messaging plans, talking points, news releases, marketing collateral, digital assets, and presentations geared toward internal and external audiences.
The ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications is a MUST.
Primary Functions & Accountabilities
- Develop internal communications strategies
- Support external communication strategies
- Create communications strategies to build employee loyalty, brand recognition and enhance customer experience
- Manage the ongoing communications efforts associated with internal branding, The Power of One and Silgan Dispensing Mission, Vision, and Values
- Proactively identify new communications and brand-building opportunities applicable across the globe
- Manage relevant update reports on internal communications
- Receive and organize company-wide news and compose into organized and visually appealing employee news for email, Intranet, etc.
- Prepare publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, bulletins, and informational materials for internal audiences
- Attend weekly editorial meetings and deliver creative ideas for internal communications and social media
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support clear, concise internal communications using best practices
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent organization, project coordination and initiative
- Understanding and demonstration of clear, concise communications
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Exceptional proofreading skills
- Experience with writing and editing, including tailoring content to different audiences' needs and level of understanding
- Adobe Suite experience required- frequent use of Photoshop
- Strong Microsoft Excel/analytical skills
- Ability to perform under tight deadlines and shifting priorities and can successfully navigate a fast-paced organization
- Superior project and time management skills
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends in marketing, internal communications, employee engagement, digital and social media
- Presentation and communication skills, including the use of visual or digital aids
- Ability to assist with social media channels to deliver content
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to manage time effectively and multi-task without losing attention to detail
- Ability to understand overall business communication needs and objectives, and apply them to a cohesive strategy
- Must possess excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a major in Communications, Marketing, Business, Journalism, English, Public Relations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-5 years of Marketing Communications, Communications or Employee Communications experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset, driven and self-reliant
- Proactive, upbeat, and reliable team player who represents self and company in a highly professional and ethical manner
- Hybrid position; remote work but must be willing to travel for occasional meeting
