Hill McGlynn Recruitment is partnering with a leading national logistics operator to appoint an experienced Inventory Manager for a high-volume tri-temperature warehouse based in Deer Park. The site supports major convenience, retail, and FMCG customers and operates in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

This is a critical operational role focused on inventory accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across ambient, chilled, and frozen product flows.

The Opportunity

Reporting into site leadership and working closely with operations and national inventory teams, you'll take ownership of end-to-end inventory management at a complex distribution centre.

You'll be responsible for protecting stock integrity, ensuring WMS accuracy, and driving best-practice inventory controls that support service, compliance, and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Maintain daily alignment between customer ERP systems and the WMS
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, damages, and losses
  • Manage SKU, UBD, LOT controls and FIFO / FEFO compliance
  • Lead cycle count strategy, governance, and reporting
  • Identify and manage at-risk, obsolete, and slow-moving stock
Warehouse Layout & Slotting
  • Optimise warehouse layout to improve pick efficiency and space utilisation
  • Review and adjust slotting based on velocity, promotions, and seasonality
  • Support capacity planning and future space forecasting
Operations & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner closely with receiving, picking, and dispatch teams
  • Support new customer onboarding, new SKU setup, and discontinued lines
  • Develop and test recall processes to meet regulatory requirements
  • Manage site assets such as ULDs, pallets, and roll cages
Systems, Reporting & Data Integrity
  • Maintain accurate, auditable inventory records
  • Produce and analyse KPIs including inventory accuracy, loss, ageing, and turns
  • Act as a site-level WMS super-user
  • Provide clear reporting and insights to internal teams and customers
Compliance, Food Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, temperature control, and sanitation standards
  • Support audits and drive corrective actions
  • Train and coach inventory team members
  • Develop and improve SOPs and work instructions
  • Promote a safety-first and continuous improvement culture
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years' experience in inventory management within warehousing or distribution
  • Strong hands-on experience with WMS platforms and inventory control principles
  • Background in tri-temperature, FMCG, convenience or retail environments
  • Advanced Excel and reporting capability
  • Strong attention to detail with a commercial mindset
  • Confident communicator able to work across operations, IT, and customers
Highly Regarded
  • Experience in refrigerated or frozen environments
  • HACCP or food safety knowledge
  • S&OP / demand planning exposure
  • High-volume, multi-SKU DC experience
