The Junior Technical Support Specialist provides essential on-site technical assistance in a federal IT environment, ensuring operational efficiency and user satisfaction across multiple client locations. This role is crucial in maintaining the functionality, security, and accessibility of end-user devices and collaboration tools that support daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver on-site technical assistance for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other endpoint technologies.
Conduct regular wellness checks on devices to ensure compliance with configurations, patching, and overall performance.
Troubleshoot various hardware, software, printing, and basic network connectivity issues following established protocols and ticketing systems.
Verify, test, and support conference room technology to enhance operational readiness and reduce disruptions for users.
Install, configure, and maintain end-user equipment in accordance with organizational standards and procedures.
Accurately document incidents, service actions, and resolutions within the IT service management system.
Collaborate with centralized support and infrastructure teams to escalate unresolved issues with comprehensive technical details.
Assist with IT asset management and disposal in alignment with security and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
0-3 years of experience in field support or related IT support roles.
Knowledgeable in hardware, software, and network troubleshooting, alongside the setup and maintenance of IT equipment.
Experience with remote support tools and structured service delivery systems.
Proven ability to manage multiple technical tasks while providing professional service to users.
Active SECRET clearance or the ability to meet security requirements.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Willing to travel locally to support field operations as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator or similar certification preferred.
Previous experience with conference room technology in decentralized environments.
Familiarity with IT service management practices and secure equipment handling.
Compensation Range: $47,700 - $54,600. Compensation may vary based on location, skill set, education, certifications, contract requirements, and experience.
