Lead Diesel Technician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Lead Diesel Technician to take charge of our workshop operations, guiding our team of technicians and ensuring workflow efficiency. This position demands excellent diagnostic skills, strong leadership capabilities, and an extensive understanding of diesel truck and heavy equipment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead daily shop operations and effectively coordinate technician tasks
• Assign and prioritize repair orders for trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery
• Assist with complex diagnostics involving diesel engines, electrical systems, aftertreatment components, and hydraulics
• Ensure all jobs are completed with precision, on time, and within budget
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulations
• Provide updates on job status to service advisors and customers
• Order necessary parts to facilitate repairs
• Mentor and support technicians to increase productivity and skill levels
• Occasionally step in to assist with repairs to maintain workflow

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel truck or heavy equipment repair
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, emissions systems (DPF/DEF), hydraulics, and electrical diagnostics
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
• Ability to interpret diagnostic software and service manuals effectively
• Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities
• CDL preferred but not mandatory

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in fleet maintenance environments
• Familiarity with Class 68 trucks and trailers
• Background in construction or agricultural equipment
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $85,000 yearly

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime as needed
