Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of projects prior to commencement, providing accurate cost estimates related to labor, materials, equipment, and other essential areas.
  • Review and interpret technical and administrative documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
  • Create detailed material takeoff lists to define required quantities of work materials.
  • Identify work crews and establish production rates for the performance of necessary tasks.
  • Break down project scopes into manageable, definable tasks.
  • Assist in creating bids, scope documents, and proposals.
  • Revise pricing for existing projects as necessary.
  • Regularly update current pricing and labor data in estimating software.
  • Build and maintain respectful relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure optimal pricing on bid day.
  • Utilize computerized takeoff programs such as Quote Express and perform manual entry, digitizer, and on-screen takeoff methods as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of HVAC estimating experience.
  • Experience across a variety of project types.
  • A collaborative team player.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong time management and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
