Lead Technologist Hematology

MAIN FUNCTION: Performs, calculates, records and reports laboratory analysis in hematology. Assists the Section Head in meeting section objectives; in absence of Section Head, organizes work plans and oversees day-to-day activities of the section. Performs a variety of tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Correlates and interprets tests within department. Informs nursing floors and/or physicians of abnormal results. Performs required routine maintenance of equipment, notifies Section Head or Manager of needed non-routine repairs and replacements.
EDUCATION: Associates or Bachelors in Medical Technology/Biological Science; ASCP Certified Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
EXPERIENCE: Five years' MT experience in area of responsibility. Previous experience as lead MT or supervisor preferred.
