Join Leidos as we seek an experienced Logistics Operations Director to contribute to the success of the Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) Program. As air traffic congestion across the nation increases, the demand for efficient aircraft traffic planning intensifies. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) TFDM program aims to enhance air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS) through innovative surface management solutions.
This pivotal role is essential to the program's success and will be included in contract documentation. The selected candidate must meet qualifications and obtain FAA approval prior to onboarding.
The Logistics Operations Director will lead logistics planning, execution, and management to ensure the seamless fulfillment of program objectives for the TFDM Program. This position requires a strategic mindset and significant expertise in logistics operations, engineering principles, and compliance with federal contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute integrated logistics strategies to achieve TFDM Program objectives.
- Establish spares strategy and quantities to guarantee operational readiness and availability.
- Analyze system failures and trends to enable proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure timely provision of materials and services vital to TFDM operations.
- Coordinate closely with the FAA Logistics Lead to address issues within Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), including ILS operations, training, and technical documentation.
- Monitor logistics performance metrics to ensure alignment with FAA requirements and TFDM program goals.
- Identify and manage logistics and supply chain risks associated with the TFDM Program.
- Act as the primary contact for logistics-related inquiries with the FAA and other stakeholders connected to TFDM.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, contract stipulations, and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in leading ILS managers and engineers in preventive and corrective maintenance, supply management, and other logistics functions within automated environments.
- Proven success in managing logistics operations for large-scale federal contracts, especially in air traffic management.
- Strong understanding of FAA regulations and compliance, particularly concerning the TFDM Program.
- Capability to secure an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA.
- Experience in workload, staffing, and personnel management.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external customers.
- Track record of driving teams to achieve critical milestones.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Pay Range: $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
