Maintenance Supervisor

Process & Equipment

  • Lead maintenance activities across float line systems, autoclaves, furnaces, cutting tables, and robotics.
  • Ensure uptime and product quality through preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Analyze performance data to reduce downtime and improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and contractors to support operations.
Quality & Improvement
  • Uphold standards for dimensional accuracy, clarity, and defect control.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Promote continuous improvement and skill development across the maintenance team.
Leadership & Workforce Administration
  • Mentor team members through skill progression and training.
  • Manage attendance, timekeeping, and performance.
  • Support union relations and maintain a collaborative work environment.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce PPE use and safety protocols.
  • Lead incident investigations and emergency response.
  • Promote a safety-first culture through audits, training, and engagement.
Qualifications
  • Supervisory experience in automotive or glass manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and PLC troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of float glass operations and industrial utilities.
  • Effective communicator with leadership and organizational strengths.
  • Experience in union environments and collective bargaining.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating night shifts with consistent attendance.
Other Requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial plant utility systems, furnace and automated equipment
  • Basic computer, glass manufacturing process knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to be flexible
  • Equipment knowledge includes:
    • Knowledge of hand tools, mill, lathe and other shop tools, boom lift, scissor lift, fork truck and general office equipment such as printer, fax and copier
  • Valid drivers' license and ability to drive company vehicles
  • Work beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as workload or projects dictate, including weekends and holidays
