Medical Assistant-Certified/Registered (Sanford Medical Group)

Description

Pinehurst Medical Clinic (PMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care practice in Sanford, NC. The Medical Assistant supports the patient care mission by carrying out medical and administrative tasks in accordance with their scope of practice.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Escorts patients to exam rooms and measures patient vital signs (blood pressure, weight, height).
Interviews patients and reviews patient records, assuring they are complete with regard to previously ordered studies such as laboratory reports, x-ray reports, ER visits, physician dictation, etc.
Assures that examining rooms assigned are properly equipped with supplies and also assures that all equipment is in working order and orders supplies as needed.
Prepares patient for exams, explaining any procedures before they are performed and answering the patient's questions.
Works between the medical front office and other clinical team members to keep the patient flow going smoothly.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education (Including Licenses and Certifications):

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) Certification is required.
Current CPR/BLS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire required.

Experience:

One year of work experience in a clinic setting preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Prior experience or knowledge of examinations, diagnostics, and treatment room procedures.
Basic understanding of ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, and medical necessity as related to the ordering of laboratory work or procedures.

Monday - Friday, Day Shift
