Medical Assistant

First Choice Health Centers (FCHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with Medical Assistant opportunities in Manchester & East Hartford, CT! (with some coverage in our Vernon location)

Supports assigned provider(s) in delivering patient care by preparing patient rooms for patient use, cleaning, maintaining and setting up equipment for use and assist in any procedures within scope of position.

This is a full time, 40 hour, Day shift position.

Job Duties

Follow patient admission procedures including taking vitals
Setting up room and equipment as well as stocking supplies
Point of care testing
Checking voice messages, reviewing charts, returning calls and responding to non-clinical questions.
Confirmation of or rescheduling of appointments as needed

Qualifications

Skills:

Computer (data entry), electronic medical record experience, required
Phlebotomy skills, required
Communication (verbal and written)
Exceptional listening skills to understand patients and must be able to take and follow directions from supervisors and providers.

Education:

Graduate of accredited Medical Assistant Program
Knowledge of medical terminology, required
CPR Certification, current
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
Flexibility to travel to other site locations (Vernon, Manchester, East Hartford) as needed.

Hours will vary by day: 1 day working 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, 3 days working 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm; rotating Saturdays 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
