Job Summary:

Passion for animals? Ellie Diagnostics is seeking two highly skilled and motivated medical laboratory technicians (MLT) to join our expanding veterinary laboratory diagnostic team in our 30,000 square foot flagship Kentucky lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a range of laboratory tests on animal specimens to support veterinary diagnoses and treatment. Your background in human health or veterinary lab will translate well to some of the following areas:

Key Responsibilities:

Hematology: -Testing cell-related components of blood samples to enumerate and identify their cellular components -Conducting microscopic evaluation of blood smears -Utilizing automated and manual counting techniques to accurately identify cellular components of blood.

Chemistry / Endocrinology: -Testing blood and body fluids for various analytes utilizing automated instrumentation -Ensuring accuracy of testing results by following strict quality control procedures -Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments.

Urinalysis: -Analyzing and evaluating the chemical and microscopic components of urine samples -Using automated instrumentation and manual techniques to ensure accurate testing results -Interpreting and reporting on urinalysis findings to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of veterinary patients.

Cytology: -Processing blood and body fluids for microscopic examination by pathologists -Preparing slides and staining samples for evaluation -Using manual and automated counting techniques to accurately identify cellular components of samples.

Immunology / Serology: -Testing blood and other samples for the presence of viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG) -Conducting immunoassays and other specialized tests to accurately diagnose infectious diseases in animals -Ensuring the accuracy of testing results by following strict quality control procedures.

Shift Time: 1:30 AM-10:30 AM Tuesday-Saturday (2 current openings)

Compensation: Very competitive range based on number of years' experience as an MLT. Full Benefits including 3 weeks of PTO, great medical, dental and vision starting with in 30 days of employment. 9 Paid company holidays with 2 floating holidays. Great opportunity for long term growth. 401K.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a licensed MLT or a related field, as well as experience working in a laboratory setting. Strong attention to detail, great teamwork skills and the desire to be a part of a rapidly growing company.
