Position Overview

CHOC Children's Specialists is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the Thompson Autism Center within the Neurodevelopmental Medicine program.

This role functions within a family-centered, interdisciplinary care model and will play a key role in the development and growth of the Thompson Autism Center. In close collaboration with the other members of the Division of Neurodevelopmental Medicine and the other clinical staff of the Autism Center team, the APP will contribute to program development, clinical care delivery, and interdisciplinary coordination, supporting improved access and continuity of care for children with autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions. The APP will have the responsibility of carrying their own patients as well as co-managing patients with other clinicians. Practical training in neurodevelopmental medicine will be provided to those, depending on their prior level of experience and educational needs.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Current California licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Appropriate national certification for NP or PA role
  • Pediatric clinical experience required
  • Experience in program development strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience working within an autism-focused or neurodevelopmental program is highly desirable
