Schedule Details: Nights with 8 and 12-hour shifts, rotating every third weekend, plus holiday rotation.

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 for 3rd Shift

Unit Overview: Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit where you will care for a diverse and complex patient population, which includes:

  • Post-operative craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections.
  • Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.
  • Patients experiencing hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.
  • A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients along with medical overflow cases.

As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), gain exposure to the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and compassionate care.
  • Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to support optimal patient outcomes.
  • Enhance the overall patient experience across the care continuum.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and implement personalized interventions while evaluating their effectiveness.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to deliver holistic patient care and adapt to dynamic clinical situations.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and strong communication skills.
  • Show initiative and capability to foster professional relationships with patients and teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with effective time management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to perform physical activities such as lifting, standing, walking, and using fine manipulative skills.
  • Must handle physical demands like lifting weights up to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 30 lbs.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous materials; protective gear may be required.
