OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST II - ODENTON

Overview:

The Occupational Therapist II will perform evaluation and subsequent planning, execution, and supervision of therapy programs for persons with neuromotor dysfunction. The Occupational Therapist II will participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary training programs for affiliating students, staff, and community agencies, clinical supervision of OT students, COTAs, and volunteers/aides, and maintain appropriate patient records.

Responsibilities:
Evaluate assigned patients; plan programs; execute, supervise, and document programs as planned.
Provide instruction to caregivers regarding home and community programming.
Maintain written documentation, including patient reports, progress notes, initial and discharge reports, according to procedures of the department, KKI, and Maryland OT guidelines.
Effectively functions within an interdisciplinary team including actively participating in intra-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary activities.
Supervises affiliating students/trainees and COTA staff as assigned.
Assist in care and maintain of department equipment and supplies.
Participates in planning and execution of programs for personal and professional growth and development.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy with a minimum with a Baccalaureate Degree or basic Masters in Occupational Therapy.
Eligible for license to practice Occupational Therapy in the state of Maryland.
Successful completion of national registration exam.

.EXPERIENCE:

Three years licensed experience in Occupational Therapy with at least two years documented experience in area of specialty.
Experience in pediatrics and/or rehabilitation and treatment preferred.
