Part Time HR Advisor

Location: Cambridge (CB25)
Duration: 12-months FTC
Hours: 24 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: 30,000 to 35,000 pro rata

Polytec are looking for a Part-Time HR Advisor on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave for our client based just north of Cambridge. You will be working 24 hours per week which can be over three full days or spread over the week. You will be responsible for ensuring HR policies and processes are compliant, reflecting best practice.

Responsibilities:

Evaluating and updating job descriptions
Answering all human resources queries
Training and advising managers on strategies for recruitment, selection, and interview evaluation procedures
Assisting with the development of recruitment campaigns
Participating in the appointment process for potential employees
Monitoring and reporting on HR metrics such as retention rates, absence data and training requirements according to business needs
Managing the onboarding and offboarding processes, providing data to payroll
Pension administration
Critical Illness and Life Insurance administration
Payroll information submission to Payroll Bureau
Supporting line managers with general performance and development through an appraisal system making recommendations as required
Using HR software to record and process data on employees, ensuring compliance with GDPR

Requirements:

Degree in human resources equivalent experience will also be considered.
At least 3 years' proven work experience in HR
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people at all levels
Proven leadership ability, able to lead change projects
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
A good working knowledge of HR systems and software
Comprehensive knowledge of recruitment strategies and employment legislation
