Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm of 1000+ legal and business professionals in sixteen markets, is currently seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our firm. This individual will be responsible for collecting the time data and producing timely and accurate payrolls for approximately 1,000 employees within the Firm.

Job Responsibilities Include:

Collaborating cross functionally on all payroll processing and time procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations for operations of biweekly and monthly payrolls.
Managing workflow to ensure all payroll transactions include wage and overtime payments, calculations and recording of payroll deductions, and change requests are processed accurately and timely.
Reconciling payroll prior to transmission and validating confirmed reports.
Collaborating with HR to ensure employees and managers meet proper cut-off dates and adhere to their weekly reporting schedules.
Understanding proper taxation of compensation and benefits.
Processing correct garnishment calculations and compliance.
Executing e-Time time and attendance processing.
Maintaining paid time off balances and responding to field inquiries.
Updating payroll records by processing status changes, tax updates, direct deposit elections and other voluntary deductions.
Maintaining payroll records and filing all payroll related paperwork following each pay period.
Performing additional processing functions including manual checks as needed, employment verifications, ad hoc inquiries, and audit reporting requests.
Adhering to internal control processes when initiating, recording, summarizing, and reporting payroll transactions.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 4-6 years of experience working in payroll administration is required. CPP preferred but not required. A combination of education and experience different from the amounts listed will be considered.
Working knowledge of payroll best practices, federal and state regulations and procedures.
Work experience with ADP HRIS and Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word required along with ability to analyze data through use of formulas and reporting.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, and client-focused approach.
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to communicate with various levels of management.
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, prioritizing and follow-up skills.
Individual must be able to travel to various offices for in-person training, and overnight stays as needed.
HSA, Retirement Plan and other benefit program experience with financial transactions preferred.
