Per Diem Clinical Nurse: General Medicine Float Pool

Job Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and administer medications, including starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, and documenting all care in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
• Continuously assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to care provided.
• Apply sound nursing judgment in managing patient care decisions.
• Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
• Administer medications as ordered, including over-the-counter and prescription medications.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
• Guide and direct ancillary personnel to maintain high standards of professional nursing practice.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license required.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care settings is required.
• Exceptional communication, prioritization, organizational, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of quality concepts and principles; ability to apply problem-solving tools to support departmental objectives and patient care.
