Responsible for the development, implementation, support, and use of comprehensive pharmacy information systems. The Informatics Pharmacist will provide support to the Director of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Staff, and Stakeholders by providing data derived from pharmacy technology and automation to help make sound operational decisions for patient care areas.
The Clinical Informatics Pharmacist will provide supervision and leadership for all related pharmacy technology services including Cerner, Automated Dispensing, IV Workflow, Barcoding, Packaging, Formulary, Drug Codes, Reports, and Data Mining Tools etc.
Implements pharmacy informatics and technical system initiatives under the directives of the Department of Pharmacy and in collaboration with Information Services and other Health System Leadership.
Responsible for generation and maintenance of pharmacy reports relating to workload and cost data to assist in pharmacy strategic planning.
Responsible for testing and maintenance of all pharmacy related automation, software packages, administrative and clinical applications.
Will provide support for staff education and clinical care as related to the proper use of technology.
Maintains knowledge of general clinical pharmacist practice within hospital.
Demonstrates competence in organizational and management skills especially dealing with multiple simultaneous time sensitive priorities.
Maintains pharmacy database and drug formulary, reviews Chargemaster quarterly and executes appropriate updates.
Works in the build, implementation, and maintenance of automation and technology to optimize pharmacy practice, pharmacy systems, and the medication-use process.
A specialist in areas related to the medication process from receipt of drug to billing.
Supports Pharmacy QA program by monitoring current standards and quality indicators.
This is a working position and the incumbent Clinical Informatics Pharmacist must meet the requiremest to fullfill the duties as a Staff Pharmacist and the schedule, may include filling up to 10% variable pharmacist rotation to meet department needs including evenings, weekends, vacations and FMLA.
Provides EMR related education/training and assists with precepting pharmacy residents and students.
Requirements:
Doctor of Pharmacy
Education: Must have Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
Licensure: Must be current Registered Pharmacist in the state of Florida
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience including 2 years of recent hospital practice (PGY 2 in Pharmacy Informatics will meet experience requirements)
Background in pharmacy automation, pharmacy computer sytem applications, or information technology (preferred)
Demonstrated communicatino, project management, and computer literacty skills (preferred)
Florida Consultant Pharmacist License (perferred)
