Pharmacy Tech Hospital

Overview:

DEFINITION OF POSITION: Pharmacy Technician will be working under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist and will carry out the responsibilities that are assigned by the Director of Pharmacy and approved by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy.

A. Education:

Required: High School Diploma.Completed basic science and math courses

B. Experience:

Required: None

Desired: Previous hospital experience, computer skills, Pyxis systems and pharmacy knowledge

C. Licenses,

Certifications, and/or Registrations: Pharmacy Technician Registration with Oregon Board of Pharmacy

D. Equipment/Tools/Work Aids:

Sterile IV Hoods and IV supplies (needles, syringes, etc), typewriter, computer terminal and printer, photocopier, fax machine, Pyxis system.
