Responsibilities:
In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in a patient's journey by:
Assist with admixing drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines and preparing all drugs within OSHA guidelines and interoffice guidelines.
Assist in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records; properly dispose all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
Assist with required cleaning and maintenance of the admix area and the pharmacy department.
Assist with quality assurance activities as assigned.
Assist in keeping accurate temperature logs, accurate logs on all protocol drugs and patient assistance drugs, and proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers.
Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
Check all orders for completeness of information; verify patient information and proper physician authorization.
Provide support with inventory control of medications.
Specialty Pharmacy experience preferred but not required
Patient Insurance Authorization Specialist preferred but not required
Qualifications:
This position allows for all levels of experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
What you bring to the team:
PTCB Certification preferred or achieved within first year of working.
Oncology experience preferred.
Sterile compounding experience preferred.
The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Masks may be required in all Arizona Oncology facilities regardless of vaccination status. Candidates who accept employment including current employees who are applying for internal positions, are required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination prior to their start date. Religious and medical exemptions are available to those who meet the criteria.
