SUMMARY
The Production Manager is responsible for managing all activities on the production floor. The Production Manager is knowledgeable about all activities in relation to production in a sheet metal fabrication environment. The Production Manager directly supports the company in meeting its goals by ensuring that production quotas are met while keeping customers satisfied. This position requires strong customer service skills, supervisory skills, motivational skills, and negotiating skills.

Production
1. Utilize MieTrack to manage all production operations
Ensure that production employees are properly using MieTrack in order to protect the integrity of data
Identify areas for improvement in regards to MieTrack
2. Work with planning, estimating, and inventory to ensure that operations flow smoothly
3. Ensures that monthly production goals are met
Conducts meetings with department supervisors
Provides regular updates to management
Recommends changes and improvements to support goal achievement
4. Establish master schedule to ensure that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner based on customer ship dates
5. Plan sequence of fabrication, assembly, and other manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations
6. Work with department supervisors to meet deadlines and ensure quality
7. Expedite orders as needed and alter the schedule to reflect changing priorities
Safety
1. Ensure that the production floor is clean, orderly, and safe
2. Ensure that employees are able to safely operate and use all required equipment
3. Assist with the implementation of the company safety program
4. Recommend improvements for workplace safety
Supervision
1. Ensure that employees remain on task and are properly utilized
Ensure that each day's activities are well planned and defined to minimize employee downtime
Ensure that overtime is used for appropriate tasks
2. Develop process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce cost
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent. 3 to 5 years experience in a related field required.
