About the Role
As a Pet Stylist (Groomer) at PetSmart, you will engage with pet parents and their beloved pets, providing exceptional grooming services and ensuring a positive experience. Your role is vital in maintaining high standards of pet hygiene and salon cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of bath, brush, and grooming services, along with additional standalone services like nail trims and teeth brushing.
- Consult pet parents on health and wellness solutions tailored to their pets' needs.
- Deliver outstanding customer service both in-person and over the phone, assisting with salon appointments and inquiries.
- Conduct salon appointment reminder calls, maintain client records, and facilitate check-in and check-out for grooming appointments.
- Support salon sales growth by promoting services and products to meet sales targets.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in the grooming area, following maintenance checklists throughout the day.
- Act swiftly if a sick or injured pet is identified, ensuring proper care and transport to a vet as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments as required; other tasks may be assigned.
- Contribute actively to our culture of Belonging and Recognition.
- Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous grooming experience required or 6 months as a Stylist in Training with successful completion of PetSmart's Salon Academy training.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Capable of maintaining composure and reacting under pressure.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, and use hands frequently, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and a wet atmosphere filled with pet hair. Moderate noise levels are expected.

Pay for this position ranges from $13.14 to $19.55 per hour, based on experience, training, and location.
