Registered Nurse - Gastroenterology Clinic

Join our dynamic team at our Gastroenterology Office! We're looking for a passionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced clinic environment.

This role involves triaging patient phone calls and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and assess vital signs; alert the treating provider of any abnormalities.
• Document patient history in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Conduct focused physical assessments related to clinic visits.
• Administer medications and treatments under the guidance of a physician or Advanced Practice Provider (APP).
• Monitor patient responses to medications and treatments.
• Engage with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and open manner.
• Assist with in-office procedures as directed by a physician or APP.
• Perform diagnostic tests and document results in EHR.
• Handle patient requests and pharmacy renewals, ensuring timely follow-up.
• Prepare charts with relevant clinical information.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Medical Assistants (MAs).
• Educate patients about their health and wellness during visits.
• Oversee supply inventory and ensure examination rooms are well-stocked.
• Participate in staff orientation and ongoing education.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current New York State RN licensure.
• Previous patient care experience preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to articulate information clearly to both medical staff and patients.
