Position Summary:

Utilizing the nursing process, you will provide high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care. You will coordinate patient care by collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families. Your communication skills will be critical in responding quickly to any changes in patient conditions or responses to treatments.

Education/Certification:

We require a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and current licensure in the state of Connecticut. Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support is required upon hire or must be obtained during the new employee orientation period.

Essential Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing comprehensive assessments and reassessments for medical and surgical patients across all age groups.
  • Utilizing effective pain management strategies and educating patients/families on these methods.
  • Developing and revising individualized care plans while involving patients and families in goal setting.
  • Following medication administration protocols to minimize errors and ensure patient safety.
  • Exhibiting strong critical thinking and organizational skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Formulating and implementing educational plans based on patient and family needs.
  • Providing thorough and accurate reports during patient care transitions.
