POSITION SUMMARY: As a Registered Nurse, you will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality direct and indirect patient care. You will coordinate care by working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, patients, and their families. Effective communication about patient conditions and timely responses to changes are essential components of this role.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of Nursing with current licensure. Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required upon hire or must be obtained during the introductory orientation period.

COMPETENCIES: Effective communication in English (both verbal and written) and basic computer skills are necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments of patients’ medical and surgical conditions, addressing psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural needs.
  • Knowledgeable about growth and development principles across the lifespan, providing age-appropriate care.
  • Assess and manage pain using appropriate tools, ensuring patient and family education on pain management.
  • Develop and revise individualized care plans based on patient assessments, responses to treatment, and family involvement.
  • Follow medication safety protocols, ensuring accurate administration and minimizing errors.
  • Document the nursing process promptly and accurately.
  • Exhibit flexibility and strong organizational skills under stress while utilizing critical thinking and judgment.
  • Create and evaluate teaching plans based on identified learning needs of patients and families.
  • Demonstrate autonomous practice in alignment with evidence-based standards, serve as a role model, and pursue continuous professional growth.
  • Provide detailed patient condition reports for safe transition of care and monitor patients in telemetry for immediate assessment and intervention as needed.
