We are currently hiring licensed counselors with substance use disorder experience for a 100% Remote, nationwide, W2 position. This specific position will be primarily focused on evening group facilitation responsibilities in an Outpatient & Intensive Outpatient Program setting with the following specialized tracks:

Recovering Professionals
Mothers in Recovery
Gender Specific
Young Adults

1.) Do you possess a Master's Degree? NOTE Due to compliance requirements, all Lionrock counselors must have obtained their Master's degree prior to obtaining state licensure.

2.) Are you available to facilitate groups between 5pm and 9:30pm Pacific Time? Note Your actual schedule may vary.

3.) Do you hold an active and unrestricted LPC, LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT license (or equivalent in your state)? NOTE The scope of practice for your license MUST include diagnosis and treatment planning for mental and emotional disorders.

About Us

Lionrock Recovery was established in 2010 to provide Substance Use Disorder (SUD)-specific, outpatient, telehealth treatment for adults struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction. Based in Northern California, our unique services employ the use of a HIPAA-compliant, tele-counseling platform that provides our clients with an intensive outpatient/outpatient (IOP/OP) treatment program, offered entirely online. While many companies have switched to a telehealth model in response to COVID-19, we've been perfecting ours for over ten years! Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other field related to behavioral health. Please Note: in accordance with our compliance requirements, all Lionrock counselors must have obtained their Master's degree prior to obtaining state licensure.


Ability to conduct group psychotherapy sessions using evidence-based SUD practices, as part of the client's broader treatment plan.
Ability to deliver psychoeducational materials in a group setting that relate to overall health, mental health, and recovery from substance use disorders.
Familiarity with medical and pharmacological resources.
Ability to deliver culturally appropriate treatment strategies that demonstrate an understanding of diversity and utilize the client's resources.
Knowledge of regulations for documentation and the ability to write comprehensive, accurate, and concise notes that record clients' progress toward treatment goals.

Essential Responsibilities

Provides general chemical dependency counseling, including process group facilitation and group psychoeducation counseling services.
Provides higher-level assessment (e.g. other, non-CD, Mental Health diagnoses; danger to self or others; non-CD crisis evaluations; emotional/family dysfunction).
Completes documentation of all clients and contacts in a timely, accurate, and concise manner.
Communicates regularly with the Admissions Team and colleagues to coordinate client care.
Communicate with outside agencies and providers to coordinate client care.
Crisis assessment and intervention as needed.
Assess for detox and create a plan to help clients connect with their local medical services.
Participate in clinical case conferences.
May be required to participate in a group coverage on-call rotation.
Other duties as assigned.

You won't be tasked with securing client referrals, obtaining liability insurance, handling the admissions process, OR billing and marketing - we've got you covered!

Compensation & Benefits

Stream 3 - Full-Time, 40 hrs, Annual Salary, W-2 Position w/ Benefits Options:

Compensation: starting at $68,250 annual salary + a 15% shift-differential for group work after 5pm PST
Benefits: valued at $11,000 per year; includes Medical, Vision, Dental, Life, Matching 401k, PTO & Holidays

Stream 2 - Limited Full-Time, 30-32 hrs Guaranteed, W-2 Position w/ Benefits Options:

Compensation: $37 to $42.55 per hour
Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Life, Matching 401k, PTO & Holidays

Stream 1 - Part-Time, 15-24 hrs, W-2 position:

Compensation: $40 to $46 per hour
Benefits: PTO and Holiday Pay
