It has since grown to be the largest provider of comprehensive substance use disorder treatment in western North Carolina. McLeod Centers for Wellbeing is currently accepting applications for a Full-time Counselor to work in its Adult Residential Treatment program in Charlotte.
The intended hours are Tuesday to Friday, 11:00 am - 6:30 pm, and Saturday, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm.
What does this position do for the agency? The position is responsible for the following, with other duties as assigned:
Formulate treatment plan for clients. Monitors clients' condition to evaluate success of therapy, and adapts treatment as needed.
Document clients' progress within required time frames.
Staff clients with treatment team/other providers as necessary.
Counsel clients individually and in group sessions to assist clients in managing their addiction in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Counsel family members as needed to assist family members in dealing with addiction and providing support for clients.
Refer clients and coordinate care with other support services as needed such as medical evaluation and treatment, social services, housing and employment services.
Assist the authorization department with documents needed to request treatment authorization.
Attend clinical supervision, as required.

Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently
What kind of education and experience is needed?
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in human service field; Master's Degree recommended.
Certificates and Licenses:
Valid license or associate license in one of the following disciplines: LCMHC/A, LMFT/A, LCAS/A, LCSW/A
