RN - Emergency Department | Acute Care

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver direct patient care by applying the nursing process with clinical expertise and adhering to professional ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement patient safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and critical lab notifications to ensure a secure care environment.
• Maintain central lines and prevent surgical site infections following established policies.
• Administer medications, perform nursing interventions, and educate patients and families to promote health outcomes.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status, enhance safety, and provide accurate information to the healthcare team.
• Document all care activities and quality measures to support clinical decisions and compliance.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Engage patients and families with timely communication and education to enhance their experience.
• Apply critical thinking in nursing practice and pursue continuing education to develop skills.

Education

Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.

Experience

At least one year of nursing experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses

• Current RN license valid in the state or through Compact Licensure.
• Graduate nurses must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Physical and Mental Requirements

This role requires considerable mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 lbs., standing, walking, and various movements such as pushing, pulling, and reaching. Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potential encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
