What opportunity is available?
Clearview Group's State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice is looking to add a full-time Real Property Tax (RPT) Director/Senior Manager. Our firm is headquartered in Owings Mills, Maryland and while this new hire may often work remotely, s/he will be required to visit our corporate office and travel to client/prospect meetings, conferences, etc., as dictated by business need.

What will this new hire do?
This Director/Senior Manager will focus on managing multiple engagement teams and clients in relation to the completion of various real property tax consulting and compliance projects. As a Director or Senior Manager, you will work to grow the practice by being involved in business development plans, marketing initiatives and growth strategies. This subject matter expert will provide timely, high-quality service that meets or exceeds client expectations. Specific responsibilities include:
Reviewing real property tax assessments for reduction opportunities, attending hearings on behalf of clients, and tracking related follow-ups with the appropriate jurisdictions.
Reviewing and analyzing clients' real estate tax assessments for reduction opportunities
Clearly communicating real property tax review procedures to engagement teams
Understanding the different capabilities of SALT team members and monitoring as well as reviewing their work product to provide feedback on performance during and after the engagement process
Coaching, motivating, and developing team members
Communicating extensively with clients to drive expectations and report on the status of ongoing projects
Managing profitability of projects
Identifying and communicating real property tax matters, as well as state & local tax matters to the SALT Directors
Subscribing to and actively reading industry publications, then sharing relevant information as applicable
Providing exceptional service to clients, always serving as a positive brand ambassador for Clearview
Maintaining a network of industry contacts and establishing new long-term relationships
What is required for consideration?
Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or another relevant field
Minimum five (5) years of current or recent real property tax consulting experience in the commercial industry
Experience leading teams and mentoring others
Understanding of real property tax rules and regulations impacting companies
Project management experience including workflow balancing, activity scheduling, problem solving facilitation, prioritizing multiple complex tasks, and meeting deadlines
Strong communication skills with experience conveying complex SALT-related information and associated business impacts to non-technical audiences
Experience interacting with clients, establishing credibility, trust and healthy relationships
Effective public speaking skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations
Unwavering integrity and ethics Demonstrable examples of innovative thinking and problem solving
Willingness and ability to travel on occasion, as dictated by business need
