In the Employee Benefits Division, our Group Reinsurance Plus (GRP) team collaborates with insurance carriers and health plans to create unique employee benefits and reinsurance solutions.

We're seeking a dynamic sales professional who excels at the convergence of market insight, strategic solutioning, and disciplined execution. As a Sales and Business Development Associate, you'll work hand-in-hand with the Director of Sales & Business Development to accelerate GRP's growth, focusing on new client acquisition, enhancing prospect engagement, and crafting impactful proposals that turn prospects into lasting partnerships.

Role Overview

In this position, you will support GRP's market outreach by managing prospecting efforts, ensuring efficient pipeline activity, orchestrating RFPs, and developing engaging proposals and presentation materials. You'll coordinate with underwriting, product, actuarial, implementation, and marketing teams to effectively communicate GRP's value proposition to carriers, health plans, and intermediaries.

What You'll Do

  • Sales Targets: Assist with new client acquisition and annual premium sales goals while contributing to sales strategy through in-depth prospect analysis and market data.

  • Data & Analytics: Collaborate with the Director of Sales to refine sales forecasts by assessing pipeline activities and client performance metrics.

  • Business Development & Prospecting: Create and manage a potential client pipeline through targeted outreach, research, and tailored communications based on stakeholder needs, tracking all engagement in prospect management tools.

  • Proposal & RFP Management: Lead the RFP process from start to finish by aligning data requirements, coordinating inputs, and delivering timely, competitive proposals, including finalist materials to support negotiations and smooth transition to implementation.

  • Market Presence: Act as a representative for GRP at industry events and client meetings to establish credibility, enhance intermediary relationships, and reinforce our value proposition.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Keep an eye on competitors and market trends, summarizing insights that enhance GRP's positioning and differentiation.

  • Client Education: Conduct sales training on GRP products and services, sharing relevant industry, regulatory, and competitive insights with clients and internal teams.

  • Marketing: Collaborate with the Marketing team to align campaigns, messaging, and materials that bolster sales objectives and elevate GRP's market visibility.

Why This Role Matters

Your contributions will be vital in converting market opportunities into measurable growth, enabling GRP to strengthen intermediary relationships, establish new reinsurance partnerships, and deliver top-notch proposals and insights that enhance our competitive stance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in group insurance/reinsurance/employee benefits with a background in sales, business development, underwriting, or client management.

  • Familiarity with group products (disability, absence, life, supplementary health) along with knowledge of trends and regulatory dynamics; experience in reinsurance and administrative service agreements is a plus.

  • Experience in prospecting, proposal development, and RFP coordination; strong analytical, problem-solving, and influencing skills.

  • Excellent writing, presenting, and stakeholder management skills; capable of tailoring messages for senior leaders, clients, and intermediaries.

  • Proactive and self-driven team player; comfortable representing GRP at client meetings and industry events.

  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Co-Pilot for presentations, proposals, forecasting/reporting, and data analysis.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
