School-Based Mental Health Therapist

We are looking for a school-based mental health therapist to join our growing team! Full-time position
Position includes school-based in-person services
Program operates consistent with district calendar, which includes 6-7 weeks of paid time off during school breaks
Weekly clinical supervision

Starting salary range $65,000 - $68,000

Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group therapy to youth ages 11-18+
Provide consultation services to school-based staff
Facilitate restorative programs and coordinate follow-up support as needed
Facilitate student leadership group and related student leadership program tasks
Engage with parents and guardians regarding client treatment goals and clinical interventions
Strive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of the classroom
Provide leadership, intervention and support when crisis counseling is appropriate
Provide case management services for individual clients and their families
Participate in clinical supervision and administrative staff meetings
Complete appropriate documentation, including bio-psycho-social assessments and treatment plans
Collaborate with colleagues and school partners to identify and address existing community needs and barriers to service
Maintain and strengthen relationships with school partners

Basic Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy
Active or pending registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an ASW, AMFT or APCC, as appropriate by discipline
Experience providing individual and group therapy, preferably with youth and families
An eagerness to advocate for an increase in access to mental health services for youth and families
Effective communicator, particularly with students, families and colleagues
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work in school milieu
An ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
The capacity to remain calm, focused and professional when faced with unexpected challenges
Strong organizational skills
Willing to commit to the full school year to ensure continuity of services for students
Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity

Preferred Qualifications:

Spanish-English bilingual
Experience in school-based mental health services
Experience in development and implementation of school-based programs
