Seeking an experienced Senior Accounting professional to perform general accounting work and provide support for the timely preparation of the organization's detailed financial statements. Work within a highly collaborative, continuous learning, team environment on a wide variety of accounting and financial matters. Responsibilities will include compiling month-end/year end closing and schedules, preparing complex statutory financial statements and regulatory filings, analyzing complex account information, performing accounting research, explaining variances and advising management regarding the potential impact. In addition, the selected individual will have the opportunity to expand their skills, receive mentorship and gain visibility working on ad hoc projects and making sound recommendations. This position can be located in our Sarasota / Lakewood Ranch campus, Lake Mary, FL office, Lawrenceville, GA or Richardson, TX office and offers a hybrid work schedule (3) days onsite and (2) days remote (after training).

Experience
Required
Bachelor's degree or better in Accounting or related field
Four years of professional accounting experience (Insurance and/or Public Accounting experience preferred)
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong experience preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations and financial statements
Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to analyze, define and solve problems; the use of good judgment and decision-making
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred
Strong knowledge of Statutory accounting principles
Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, rules and regulations
Working knowledge of PeopleSoft
Licenses & Certifications
