Senior Accountant (On-site)

Shepard is seeking a Senior Accountant that will work as a member of the Finance and Accounting team. In this capacity, the senior accountant will partner with the Accounting Manager as well as other finance team members across Shepard to provide accounting and finance support as necessary.

Essential Job Duties

Prepare and post journal entries during month-end closing for multiple entities while adhering to deadlines
Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations and analysis
Reconcile and eliminate intercompany accounts during the monthly consolidation
Reconcile bank statements
Responsible for Fixed Asset Tracking and Reconciliation for all entries
Prepare documents for audits
Work with the Accounting Manager to improve financial processes
Assist with Cash Flow calculations and projections along with wire and ACH payments
Provide accounts payable and receivable support as needed
Assist Accounting Manager with financial statement preparation
Treat all internal and external customers with courtesy and respect, as outlined in our Blue Diamond Customer Service program
All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to perform as a responsible ESOP owner by making daily decisions to benefit the client and the company
2-4 years of professional accounting experience
Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Advanced Excel skills including vlookup, if statements, and pivot tables
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills with a customer focus
Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
Able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met
Possess exceptional attention to detail and have strong follow-up skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business accounting, finance, or related field preferred; professional experience may be substituted for formal education
