B3W Elective Orthopedics:
B3West is a dynamic 24-bed unit featuring private rooms focused on post-surgical services. We primarily serve patients undergoing elective orthopedic surgery and Total Joint surgery. Our nursing staff is dedicated to caring for post-surgical patients, orthopedic trauma cases, and those requiring general medical-surgical care.
As a Senior Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in fostering a compassionate and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues. We value every team member's contribution towards achieving the organization's mission through kindness and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Implementing physician orders, administering medications, starting IVs, performing treatments, procedures, special tests, and documenting care in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
- Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to accurately assess patients' conditions.
- Performing thorough assessments and evaluations of patient needs and care responses.
- Applying sound nursing judgment in decision-making regarding patient care management.
- Providing primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Administering medications, both over-the-counter and prescription, as ordered.
- Collaborating with the nursing team to create comprehensive Plans of Care for all patients.
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel while upholding professional nursing standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program resulting in a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained and maintained.
- A minimum of 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care is essential.
- Exceptional communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills are a must.
- Proficiency in quality improvement concepts, principles, and problem-solving techniques.
