Senior Counsel - Technology Products
As a crucial member of the General Counsel's Office (GCO) at EY, you will provide expert legal support for technology products and platforms, advising on matters including software licenses, SaaS agreements, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing. Your role will ensure that EY can provide the best services to our clients.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate client-facing agreements, while advising on contractual strategies and staying informed on legal developments.
- Work collaboratively with the US GCO and local counsels across EY member firms.
- Partner with intellectual property and procurement counsel to support product development and commercialization.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with data privacy, information security, and quality standards.
- Enhance and adapt existing EY policies regarding technology products.
- Support product teams in developing innovative products and platforms.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the tools and products you will be advising on to provide effective counsel.
- Manage a dynamic workload, ensuring high responsiveness and accountability.
- Build strong relationships within the GCO and legal practice groups to deliver exceptional service.
- Develop and provide training on product agreements and best practices to business stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends to drive innovations in your field.
To qualify, you must have:
- Over 7 years of significant experience in technology-related transactions with a focus on drafting and negotiating agreements.
- A thorough understanding of SaaS, software licensing, and emerging technologies.
- Experience in creating contracting templates and standards.
- Proficiency in using legal collaboration tools to enhance teamwork.
- Knowledge of data privacy, security, and intellectual property laws.
- Experience with cross-border agreements and data transfer regulations.
- The ability to assess and negotiate terms for new technologies while clearly communicating associated risks.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively in teams.
- A high degree of cultural and emotional intelligence.
- The capability to work independently while collaborating across functions and locations.
- Competence in articulating complex legal concepts and commercial risks.
- The ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- A commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Experience in a technology or consulting product counsel role, including leading negotiations.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Membership in a State Bar and good standing as an attorney.
