The Data Center Infrastructure Construction team at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is an innovative and dynamic group dedicated to building top-tier data center facilities efficiently and at scale. Comprised of skilled project managers, commissioning experts, and construction specialists, this team collaborates effectively to execute intricate data center construction projects. They are committed to maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability, while integrating the latest technologies. We are in search of a seasoned Data Center Construction Operations Manager to provide expert oversight and technical leadership for the construction of data centers managed by colocation providers. This pivotal individual contributor role is essential for ensuring that projects adhere to schedules, quality standards, and design requirements through hands-on expertise, strategic coordination, and proactive execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Focus on base building and MEP infrastructure aspects of projects.
Project Oversight: Lead and manage the data center construction efforts by colocation providers, ensuring all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Schedule Management: Create and maintain detailed project timelines, coordinating with colocation providers for the timely achievement of milestones.
Risk Evaluation: Independently analyze project risks, identify gaps in risk management, and communicate potential impacts to the business.
Tenant Fit Out Integration: Collaborate through design, construction, and commissioning to ensure seamless integration of tenant fit-out projects with base building works.
Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control processes to meet design specifications and industry standards in all construction endeavors.
Design Coordination: Work closely with design teams to align construction activities with approved design plans.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the main liaison between the company and colocation providers, ensuring effective communication throughout project execution.
Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring overall project success.
Compliance: Guarantee that all construction activities comply with applicable regulations, codes, and industry standards.
Provide ongoing input for evaluating colocation providers and driving continuous improvement.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor schedule adherence, coordination, and quality throughout the project's lifecycle.
Required Skills:
Extensive knowledge of base building construction for data centers, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls, and plumbing systems.
Experience managing startup and commissioning phases of major data center projects.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to tackle complex challenges in fast-paced environments.
Strategic Planning: Expertise in formulating long-term strategies and establishing program-level requirements for construction projects.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of data center design, construction, and operational specifications, emphasizing innovative technologies and sustainability.
Project Management: Proven ability to oversee large-scale construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely and budget-friendly outcomes.
Leadership: Demonstrated capacity to lead effectively, mentor, and inspire diverse teams of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals.
Budget Management: Skilled in developing, managing, and optimizing project budgets for resource efficiency.
Risk Management: Capable of identifying risks and crafting effective mitigation strategies to reduce impacts on timelines and costs.
Vendor Management: Substantial experience in selecting, negotiating, and maintaining contracts with external vendors and contractors.
Regulatory Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards necessary for compliance across construction activities.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and clear project updates.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, focusing on data center or colocation infrastructure within a general contractor, colocation provider, or hyperscaler environment.
Proven record of success in managing sizable construction projects.
Strong comprehension of construction processes, quality control, and design coordination.
Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Ideal candidates will be based in one of several key states.
Note: This position requires 50% travel.

Compensation and Benefits:
The hiring range for this position varies by location and experience, with a typical range from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. Eligibility for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral may apply. The benefits package includes:
