Senior Electrical and I&C Estimator

Jacobs is looking for talented candidates to join our team as a Senior Electrical and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Estimator. In this role, you will take charge of developing construction cost estimates for a variety of projects, including buildings, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and power generation projects. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive conceptual and detailed construction cost estimates for electrical and I&C systems.
• Interpret plans and specifications from various design phases and generate accurate quantity takeoffs and pricing for all systems.
• Utilize your understanding of civil, structural, and architectural construction systems.
• Create a work breakdown structure for complex projects to ensure clear cost estimates.
• Draft Basis of Estimates that transparently explain the estimating methodology and assumptions used.
• Calculate costs utilizing labor rates, production rates, material pricing schedules, and previous data.
• Gather cost data from relevant functional representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Stay informed about construction market trends and their impact on estimating.
• Contribute to risk analysis, value engineering, and constructability exercises.
• Maintain and prepare historical cost data for future reference.
• Create cost models for various estimating elements.
• Assist the lead estimator in reporting functions and assembling project deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Over 10 years of experience in electrical and I&C estimating within a related field.
• Proficiency in standard office software, including MS Project and Bluebeam.
• Capability to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawings.
• Experience in conceptual estimating and a background in the oil and gas sector is a plus.
