Role Overview
In this leadership role, you will take charge of the preconstruction process, ensuring that we develop precise, strategic estimates that support our project pursuits and secure our position in the market for the long term. Your responsibilities will revolve around:
- Leading the preconstruction process to deliver competitive bids, proposals, and comprehensive cost estimates.
- Crafting effective project win strategies, including preparation and presentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing project teams to guarantee the efficient execution of the preconstruction process.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and design teams throughout preconstruction.
- Conducting self-perform estimating tasks as necessary.
- Creating conceptual budgets and maintaining accurate project cost histories.
- Collaborating with operations to assess project risks and ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
- Providing insights into market trends and cost drivers specific to the power sector.
- Tracking procurement processes to influence successful project delivery and mitigate risks.
- Promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion and adhering to non-discrimination policy.
This is an opportunity to shape the future of our power market initiatives and ensure we navigate the complexities of power generation effectively. This position will involve extensive travel, and while there is a preference for candidates based in Atlanta, GA, or Kansas City, MO, we are open to flexible arrangements based on experience.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in construction estimating.
- Leadership and people management experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to manage major power generation projects.
- Expertise in EPC models, risk management, and commercial structuring.
- Strong network with utilities, developers, and industry stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related fields.
Work Environment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel overnight.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours as required by projects.
- Normal office environment with potential exposure to extreme conditions.
- Physical requirements include frequent sitting and computer use, with occasional standing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
