We are seeking candidates for Senior Machinist roles. Compensation for this opportunity is $25.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information!

What a Senior Machinist will do:

• Oversee and coordinate the designated shift operational and support activities of the shop
• Provide technical guidance, expertise, and leadership to staff regarding machine tools (lathes, milling machines, boring machines, grinders, machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces)
• Produce custom tooling and fixture design as needed for complex prototypes
• Operate standard and specialized equipment (lathes, milling machines, boring machines, grinders, machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces) to produce prototype parts
• Consult with personnel regarding product information, such as design, capacity, and purpose, and types of materials to be used for fabrication
• Analyze written specifications, drawings, rough sketches, and oral instructions to plan layout and determine sequence of operations
• Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, drawings, and machining parameters; interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances
• Test experimental models under simulated operating conditions for such purposes as development, standardization, and feasibility of design
• Evaluate experimental procedures and recommend changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup and production

What you need to be a Senior Machinist:

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Advanced technical education is a plus
• 5+ years of experience directly related to the assigned area required
• Ability to operate standard and specialized equipment to produce prototype parts
• Ability to perform standard shop computations
• Skill in the production of parts with extremely close tolerances
• Employee development and performance management skills
• Ability to perform experimental procedures
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
• Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
