With an 80 to 90% FTE commitment to editorial work, you will leverage your clinical experience and analytical skills to create clear, evidence-based guidelines that address crucial clinical questions.

Newly appointed editors will benefit from extensive training and mentorship from senior Physician Editors, ensuring you gain the critical skills necessary for evaluating medical literature and crafting high-quality content in the UpToDate style. This role supports your professional growth and connects you with a network of experts in the field of Adult Neurology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Physician Editor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and editing contributions from expert authors to ensure clarity, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Guiding updates and monitoring literature for new developments to keep topics current and actionable.
  • Collaborating with external authors, section editors, and editorial teams to enhance content quality.
  • Systematically reviewing existing topics for completeness and clinical relevance.

You will have the freedom to engage with external experts while working closely with in-house editorial and graphics assistants to maintain valuable resources for clinicians.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

  • Medical Degree
  • Board Certification/Eligibility in Adult Neurology

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Clinical experience in an academic or practice setting after residency.
  • A valid medical license in at least one U.S. state.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Collaborative attitude, capable of working with colleagues at varying skill levels.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a self-motivated approach.
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
  • Interest in critically analyzing medical literature.
  • Commitment to spending 80-90% of the work week on editorial tasks while maintaining 10-20% in clinical practice.

TRAVEL: Minimal - less than 5% required.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this role is $173,500.00 - $310,000.00 USD, with eligibility for bonuses. Compensation details will be discussed based on individual skills and experience.
