Senior Project Manager

This position plays a crucial role in planning, directing, and coordinating significant projects valued between $10M-$40M associated with gas distribution and transmission. You will organize multi-disciplinary teams through all phases of the project lifecycle, including creation, budgeting, monitoring, and making necessary adjustments to ensure success.

What you'll be working on:

  • Lead and manage the project management team, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects with scopes ranging from $10MM to $40MM.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with established goals and budgets, making timely adjustments to timelines and resources as needed.
  • Regularly update budgets, forecasts, schedules (Gantt Charts), and status reports to reflect milestones according to the original plan.
  • Ensure that all project outcomes comply with safety regulations and meet the requirements set by Chesapeake Utilities, the Pipeline Health and Safety Administration, OSHA, and other Federal and State regulations.
  • Create monthly project status presentations, including budget forecasts, timelines, and milestones, for business unit leaders.
  • Assist in selecting and reviewing contractor progress to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Exhibit our company’s Mission, Vision, and Values in interactions with external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments, and coworkers.
  • Lead project meetings to review progress, provide updates, and identify potential risks.
  • Train and mentor Project Manager I team members.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (Project Management, Engineering, Construction).
  • Three (3) years of experience in Project Management and/or Engineering.
  • PMP Certification or the ability to obtain it within six months.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate to explore alternative solutions.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize the work schedules of others on a short-term basis.
  • Decision-making skills that impact both the work unit and overall department.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
  • Capable of composing detailed reports, work-related manuals, and making presentations beyond the immediate work area.
  • Able to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
