About the Role: Our client is on the lookout for a Senior Specialist in Economic Crime Risk Assurance to become part of their dedicated Economic Crime Risk team. This role entails being a subject matter expert, tasked with designing and executing assurance activities that fortify the bank's Financial Crime systems and controls, thereby protecting both customers and the organization from various risks.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

• Acting as a key expert in systems assurance across areas such as Fraud, AML, CTF, Sanctions, and more.
• Providing assurance on systems effectiveness, focusing on payment screening, client screening, transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment, and fraud prevention/detection.
• Planning and executing a risk-based Economic Crime Assurance Programme annually.
• Leading independent testing of system components, including data lineage/mapping, data reconciliation, rule/model calibration, and change management governance.
• Identifying control weaknesses, analyzing trends and system capabilities, and recommending enhancements to rules or systems.
• Producing high-quality written and verbal reports for senior management on a consistent basis.
• Collaborating with Assurance, Audit, and Systems teams to deliver effective assurance activities and foster continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For:

• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Financial Services within Financial Crime or Fraud analytics, with a strong focus on managing and analyzing complex data.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical matters.
• Proficient in SQL, with SAS experience being an added advantage.
• Proven track record in delivering assurance or audit reviews on Financial Crime systems and data feeds.
• Strong expertise in Economic Crime risks, regulations, threats, and mitigation strategies.
