Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of individuals from varied age groups using a combination of standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that align with both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions tailored to enhance communication abilities, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team consisting of physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, and family caregivers to develop integrated care strategies.
  • Engage in education for patients and their families to ensure continued progress and reinforcement outside of clinic sessions.
  • Occasionally contribute to inpatient evaluations and treatments, creating a seamless continuum of care.
  • Ensure precise and timely documentation in accordance with healthcare standards and guidelines.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to keep your techniques and knowledge cutting-edge through training and collaborative peer networking.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a duly supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are yet to attain ASHA certification.
Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Mandatory Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment.
Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based therapy strategies across all age groups, coupled with a strong understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams.
