The Role

The Specialist, Search & Social is a mid-level position where you will focus on developing a deep understanding of and expertise in both Search and Social Media - specifically SEM and paid Social Media. The Specialist will assist the larger team in executing paid media tactics, optimizing campaigns, managing budgets, analyzing performance, extrapolating insights, and making recommendations based on in-market results from paid social media campaigns. Social media is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week medium, so the work is fast-paced and often ad hoc. Working as part of a team in such an environment is crucial, as is a sense of innate curiosity, attention to detail, and a self-motivated work ethic. The Specialist is the subject matter expert and will participate in strategic conversations with various teams across agency, client, and partner teams, including Strategy, Digital Investment, Analytics, Programmatic, and Linear (TV/OTT).

In the Specialist role, you will have the opportunity to work across both Search and Paid Social as you venture to complete a predetermined checklist to determine your advanced mastery of each channel. Your ability to identify trends, stay abreast of industry advancements, and engage with new partners and vendors to discover innovation and opportunity is crucial to your success in this role.

Your day-to-day work will include developing soft skills such as email correspondence, PowerPoint / Excel work and presentation skills, client management, team management, and partner relationship management.



Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day campaign performance and analysis by working with the team's other two Specialists, the Supervisor and Associate Media Director

Monitor campaigns to ensure proper pacing, avoid under- or over-spending, and identify traffic abnormalities and any potential opportunities. It is important to note that this will include weekend check-ins to ensure campaigns are pacing correctly

Perform research to understand audiences and their behaviors while actively applying those learnings to develop campaign-targeting strategies

With that research, assist in the development of Audience worksheets and help organize into a cohesive strategic campaign to then present/review with clients for approval

Use client and platform-provided data as well as in-campaign trends to identify opportunities for expanding audiences and/or optimizing campaigns

Evaluate ad creative for platform specifications and advise the client-lead team on best practices

Accurately traffic, upload, and QA ads, implement targeting parameters and landing page URLs as outlined by the team

Run reports as scheduled and as needed based on client-partner requests while providing ongoing optimization recommendations at an audience, platform, and creative level.

Stay on top of the latest trends in tools, technology, ad products, and social media platforms, in general

Based on client goals, identify audience parameters, key ad units, KPIs, bid and objective types, budget allocations, and other campaign controls to ensure all Social and Search campaigns perform according to the brief and delivers on any prescribed measurement plan

Develop initial draft of Search copy and keyword lists based on briefing materials for review and approval by client team

Assist with team billing needs like actualizing media spend against planned budgets, reconciling vendor invoices and working with Finance to investigate any billing discrepancies in Prisma




Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree

2-3 years of experience working in Paid Social and/or Search media

Proven ability to drive projects from start to finish

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience sending and receiving email

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Excellent time management skills and commitment to follow through

Extremely detail-oriented

Possess a solid and proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks flexibly, all while communicating about shifting priorities with your team of Supervisors

High-level proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office products as well as planning and buying tools
