- Design tailored treatment plans to target both immediate objectives and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing aspirations.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and family members to ensure integrated care delivery.
- Provide education for patients and families, enabling support and progress beyond the therapy sessions.
- Occasionally handle inpatient evaluations and interventions, fostering continuity throughout the care continuum.
- Keep precise and timely records in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing education and collaboration with fellow clinicians to stay abreast of field advancements.
Education - Earned a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications - State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- A Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) training to be completed within 30 days of hire.
Skills - Expertise in evidence-based practices for individuals across the lifespan, including a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
