In this role, you will plan, organize, and conduct speech therapy treatment programs in accordance with the state practice act guidelines. You will maintain patient care records, evaluate treatment responses, recommend changes to treatment plans, and participate in educational programs to enhance your skills and those of your colleagues.

Education

Required: Master's degree

Work Experience

Required: None

Preferred: Experience with pediatric and adult populations

Certifications

Required:

  • Current Speech Pathologist license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required within 2 years of hire

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficient computer skills and dexterity for data entry and information retrieval.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a professional presentation style.
  • Proficiency in Windows-style applications and software relevant to the role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make sound judgments in varying patient situations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct age-appropriate evaluations and treatments for a diverse patient population.
  • Maintain accurate patient records reflecting documentation standards and protocols.
  • Adapt schedules and treatment plans as necessary to meet departmental needs.
  • Meet productivity goals and pursue professional training and credentialing opportunities.
  • May facilitate education and training for peers in the discipline.
  • Personalize communication and care approaches to respect the individual needs and privacy of each patient.
