Description
  • Conduct evaluations on patients ranging from children to seniors utilizing standardized assessments and observation techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term speech, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions that focus on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive patient care strategies.
  • Provide education and resources to patients and families to support progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Participate in rare inpatient evaluations and treatments, ensuring continuity of care throughout the recovery process.
  • Keep meticulous and prompt documentation in accordance with clinical regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
  • Engage in continuing education and collaborative peer opportunities to stay up-to-date with advancements in speech therapy.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting the position.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based practices suitable for all age groups, with a deep understanding of developmental and acquired disorders related to speech, language, and swallowing.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Capability to adapt therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic needs.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
