Description
  • Conduct assessments across pediatric, adult, and senior patient groups utilizing standardized tools and observational methods.
  • Create individualized therapy plans that cater to immediate objectives and overarching communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy sessions emphasizing communication techniques, language acquisition, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families for coherent patient care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and their families to foster development outside of therapeutic settings.
  • Handle occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care through each step of the process.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation adhering to regulations from state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Keep abreast of the latest advancements in the field through continued education and interactions with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
Skills
  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques across all ages, with a thorough grasp on developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidimensional care teams.
